Some people have asked me what I think about this new movement to "Cancel Canada Day".

 

Honestly, I'm not surprised.

 

This is just the natural progression of a corrosive, far-Left ideology seeking to rewrite Canadian history and culture and replace it with a Marxist-inspired alternative bent on dismantling our institutions. 

 

To accomplish this, they need to first discredit the history, individuals and power structures that built this country, by identifying them as " racist", "white supremacist" or any other pejorative term that might bring them into disrepute. 

 

Only once this is accomplished do they believe they can convince a majority of Canadians to allow them to radically re-make this country in the post-national, post-modernist vision they have for its future.

 

It is thus the responsibility of all Canadians who love their country to stand up to this overt effort to dismantle its national identity, and instead celebrate the incredible and improbable accomplishment that is Canada.

 

Despite our imperfections, our founders built what was, and remains, one of the greatest democracies in the history of the world.

The closure, scheduled for the summer of 2024, is a result of the utterly burdensome terms and conditions imposed by the bureaucratic Northern Health. As a result, Dawson Creek stands to lose four doctors who have made this city their home, and who wish to continue serving the people of our community.   The impending closure of the Eljen Medical Clinic is a significant blow to our city. The BC NDP turning its attention, from BC United, to BC Conservatives was reported over the weekend from a variety of sources. It is the result of the surge in the BC Conservative's polling numbers and the subsequent collapse of BC United. The NDP has largely ignored the BC Conservatives, instead they opt to talk about issues directly or attack their old foes BC United. Practical politics says that parties closer to the centre tend to ultimately prevail over the long haul. They do wane but often make comebacks.
