More than just focusing on pipeline and fuel issues however, Bolin expanded further on building BC, its economy, and well-paying jobs
In a recent
message to members, BC Conservative Party leader Trevor Bolin stated, “We have done it ... the Made in BC platform has been viewed by over 1,000,000
British Columbians in only 35 days. With your help our message has been
resonating with folks from all over this great province”.
Bolin continued, “I set out with a goal of getting in front of
1,000,000 people in 90 days, and we did it with 55 days to spare, but I am not
going to slow down. We recently rolled out #5 It’s About You.
People are tired of a government that isn’t accountable to us and the people
that put them in power”.
“We have seen what happens when governments
listen to wealthy corporate donors and special interest groups. We all pay the
price of those mistakes. It’s time to put people back in power in this
province, and we are the only party that can and will do that”.
Recently Facebook has
been chock full of messages about the BC Liberals blaming the NDP for high gas
prices, and the BC NDP blaming the Liberals for money laundering and
corruption.
I asked Trevor about that recently, and his comment was:
“In all honesty, all we see from
the BC Liberals is how the NDP are doing it wrong, and that is all we seen the
decade and half before this government was about the BC Liberals doing it wrong
in the eyes of the NDP”.
He then went on to say, “The BC
Conservatives are about how we can do it right. We are about listening to
the people of British Columbia and working towards solutions”.
Going back to the Conservative message to members, Party leader Trevor Bolin revealed that he had recently messaged NDP Premier John Horgan offering the advice to:
- lower the provincial taxes on fuel
- remove the legislation mandating all vehicles will be non fuel operated by 2040 and ...
- encourage both the expansion as well as creation of an additional refinery in British Columbia.
“That has unfortunately fallen on deaf ears.
These three steps would not only immediately give British Columbians relief at
the pumps, but ensure that long term sustainable fuels are available”, he remarked.
More than just focusing
on pipeline and fuel issues however, Bolin expanded further on building BC, its
economy, and well-paying jobs;
“The BC Conservatives are in
favour of supporting our diverse economy in British Columbia. This
includes forestry, fishing, natural gas, agriculture, tourism and everything
else that makes B.C. the most diverse province in the country.
Forestry has played a major role in jobs,
provincial funding and GDP growth for many decades in B.C. We have an
opportunity to continue seeing the benefits, and need to ensure we do it right
so generations after us see the same benefits”.
And about government accountability, on this issue Bolin spoke strongly
and without reservation in a recent interview:
“How about parties should uphold the promises they make, whether they speak at a function or market it on billboards ... be accountable to the people like everyday is an Election Day”.
“How about parties should uphold the promises they make, whether they speak at a function or market it on billboards ... be accountable to the people like everyday is an Election Day”.
That mirrored a post made to Twitter Thursday in which the party made
the stated positions that ... this is our BC and we will make government
about people ... MLAs will be responsible for the promises made to constituents
... (our) platforms and policies will represent all British Columbians alike
... and finally that a BC Conservative government would be ... accountable,
transparent & open.
