Agassiz Ice Cap on the central eastern side of Ellesmere Island, in Nunavut |
The earliest was over 2 billion years ago, and
the most recent one began approximately 3 million years ago and continues today
(yes, we live in an ice age! Kind of helps explain snow in Edmonton in May).
Currently, we are in a warm interglacial that began about 11,000 years ago.
Basically, climate change is an inevitable
part of life on this planet.
We (the global human race "we") are
likely playing a part in advancing the timeline a
little quicker (that happens when you have seven billion of anything living in
a single space), but even without us, the Earth's climate is going to change
... Period.
No Carbon Tax or
Green Energy plan is going to change that. It just means that we will get there
at a tortoise pace, rather than a hare’s.
So, to be clear, climate change is real but,
no, we are NOT the root cause of it.
There, now I have pissed off the deniers AND
the believers (not to mention Creationists), so let the indignant commenting
begin -- or not?
STOP THE PRESSES! In actual fact, this commentary was designed to show that people read what they want to read.
My wife called me a
climate change denier, but when you read it I am not actually denying climate
change.
My Conservative friends
took it to mean that I think the whole climate change thing is hooey, when I
actually said that we are a part of the reason, just not the root cause.
In only a few short
paragraphs I was able to prove that you cannot convince people of anything, on Facebook,
if their underlying belief is unconvinceable.

I agree with your analysis re climate except that you fail to mention that human contribution is miniscule compared with the natural effects.
