KAMLOOPS: An invitation to join resource workers to a Brown Bag Lunch was extended to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – it was declined


According to local Kamloops ShareBC representative, Dennis Giesbrecht, there were well over 100 pro-resource supporters at the Coast Canadian Inn this morning.  Them came out during a snowy day in Kamloops, to greet Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In one of the photo’s you can see people signing a banner asking Trudeau to get the pipelines built.  In same photo (bottom right corner), you can see the brown bag lunch they had ready for Justin should he have joined them. 

Dennis Giesbrecht informed me that an invitation to meet with local resource workers, and enjoy the working mans and woman’s brown paper bag lunch, was extended through the Prime Ministers office -- there was no response to it.  Meantime, the white collar federal Liberal supporters, who could afford a $300 lunch so as to hob-nob with the Prime, did get to spend time with Trudeau.

Hmmmm … I’m pretty sure I recall something from Trudeau saying he understands the plight of the middle class.  Coming out and spending some time with brown bag lunch resource workers, might actually have allowed him to find out first hand, the current plight they face with job loses, and every increasing taxes.

    COME ON CANADIANS LET’S SAVE CANADA, GET OFF TH3 COUCH AND PARTICIPATE. I WAS AT THIS GREAT KAMLOOPS RALLY AND THE PROUD CANADIANS THAT CAME OUT ARE MAD! PLEASE WE NEED MORE PEOPLE TO GET THE MESSAGE OUT! COME TO A RALLY AND BRING A FRIEND AND THEN THAT FRIEND CAN BRING A FRIEND AND SO ON. BELIEVE ME AFTER YOU HAV3 GONE TO ONE RALLY, YOU WILL BE HOOKED! WELL LOOKY HERE, JUSTIN TRUDEAU WAS INVITED TO EAT WITH THE POOR CANADIANS BUT REFUSED. INSTEAD HE WOULD RATHER CHARGE POOR UNSUSPECTING VICTIMS $300 A PLATE SO HE CAN BORE THEM WITH HIS LIES AND BS. WOW THOSE PEOPLE THAT PAID THAT $300 A PLATE COULD HAVE DONATED THAT TO THE HOMELESS IN KAMLOOPS.

WARD STAMER: “Hopefully he’s actually listening to what people have to say, and not just showing up for a photo op”

In his latest travels across the province, BC Forest Minister Ravi Parmar touched down in the Okanagan. A trip essentially, he said, to be on the ground meeting industry people. I read what he had to say, and about how he has been tasked with getting more timber to market. Let me start by saying, “ He hasn’t been tasked. He and Premier Eby guaranteed 45 million cubic metres of available wood fibre – they guaranteed that .” BC Timber Sales is a government agency within the provincial forest’s ministry, which is responsible for managing a portion of the province's Crown timber; specifically, 20 percent of the province's annual allowable cut. Unfortunately, BC Timber Sales did not provide anywhere near that amount last year, it was just 12.2 percent.
