TWO STORIES YESTERDAY, in the news, caught my attention. They show the chaos that has been allowed to develope and grown, unchecked, in BC communities:
“People are scared to come, browse and shop downtown because of the
chaos and perceived danger,” said Madeline Crane, who started working at
the store, at 451 Albert St., in 2000 before purchasing it 19 years
ago. “I don’t blame them. When I arrive at the store in the morning, I
have to clean up syringes, drug paraphernalia and feces left scattered
in the entryway.”

A Richmond grocer plagued by an epidemic of shoplifting says they feel powerless, with police and security systems doing little to deter the repeated thievery.
