“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

A conversation with Sean and I ... and an Announcement From Me

The other day a BC political acquaintance, Sean Upshaw, and I had an online / offline conversation.   This followed up on my blog post of Saturday July 29th entitled, " Well Christy Clark never did move there -- and poor Sean never had a chance to sell her a house either " Sean good naturedly (I hope) took exception to my title for the post and responded to me by saying: For the record, Sean Upshaw is not poor in anyway. I would have declined to sell her a house any ways as I prefer to work with people who are sincere. Having said that I wish her luck in her next endeavour. Maybe now the party to the right of centre can find someone who is not affiliated with Trudeau to lead them . Hmmmm ... I said to myself, 'Is he referring to the BC Liberals being right of center?? ... or ...?? '.   And so I asked him: I'm interested by the wording on your comment Sean ... the party to the 'right of centre' can find some...

HENSHALL: We need to bring back 'some boring' sound policy, and fiscal responsibility, that works to make government run more efficiently

Hello Friends, When confronted with the Social Credit 'Socred' brand, prior to the 2017 provincial election, I realized this is what BC needs.   I decided I would be willing to put my name forth to open this option up to British Columbians. With a history of decisions that bettered society as a whole (creating an environment for individual freedoms and prosperity, yet with a social conscience) I realized that it is what most of us want to see.  MICHAEL HENSHALL ... BC Social Credit candidate for Fraser - Nicola Currently we have a two party system that dominates BCs political landscape. One party seems to be void of conscience, with an all out neglect for anything other that to scale the ladder of personal success and wealth -- even at the expense of others. The other party, sees the wealth of others is best to be evenly distributed throughout society.  The framework the Socreds created under WAC Bennett secured certain aspects of ...

Here's What You Had To Say Regarding; " I CAN'T support that kind of campaign ..."

Y esterday's post ( I CAN'T support that kind of campaign, or a party that would allow a leadership team to okay that kind of campaigning )   sure generated a lot of interest, and comments.   From personal emails I received, to comments on my own blog, to comments on the Armchair Mayor's blog, people certainly had thoughts on me spoiling my ballot.   Here's a sampling of what folks had to say: Pierre ... I always maintained that a government not only has the responsibility to “govern” but it also has the responsibility to set the moral tone among the masses. Similarly to a family, where parents cannot expect righteousness in their children if themselves, behave amorally. I never thought much of Ms. Clark, I think even less of her now and it is obvious she has to go. The “X”, no matter how big it is across the ballot won’t help.   Hold your nose, put a smaller “X” where the pollsters tell you to and then pat yourself in the back, because t...

Both of those parties (the BC Liberals and the BC NDP) are sitting on "Empty" when it comes to having the grit and determination to see things through

Just a quick note from me today. The Georgia Strait has an interesting commentary today ( Looking for a leader and in search of John Horgan ) from former Socred, Reform, Liberal researcher / advisor Martyn Brown ... who by all appearances from his most recent article, has fully gone over the deep end to the NDP side.  The following comment however, towards the end of his article, is completely correct I believe: " In the end, it is strong leadership that most voters want. Leadership that dares to be better. Leadership that taps into voters’ frustrations and anger with the status quo. Leade rship that negates phony partisan-fueled fears with a more hopeful agenda for positive change ." YES ... we DO want a leader with an agenda for positive change, but instead of simply saying we need "strong leadership that most voters want", can we also include, "F rom ANY party BUT the NDP or Liberals"? I and many others, I feel certain, are of the beli...
