Recent remarks from Toronto Police Association President Clayton Campbell highlight what Canada’s lawful firearms community has argued for years: Ottawa’s Firearms Confiscation Compensation Program is political theatre that cannot make our streets safer. Toronto Chief of Police Mark Saunders Our approach to people who possess illegal handguns or who have and use guns in the commission of a crime needs a serious overhaul. The spate of shootings in Toronto was caused by people. They were settling scores or in disputes over criminal territory.
