The Government of Canada has added four new groups to the list of terrorist entities recognized under the Criminal Code. The diehards of ISIS were surrounded and making their last stand in Baghuz, Syria, in 2019 when a Canadian who had married into the terrorist group surrendered. U.S.-backed Kurdish fighters took Kimberly Polman to a prison called Roj Camp, where she told Global News she understood she might be put on trial once she returned to Canada. “I’m not above the law,” she said.
