“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

FORSETH -- "I think people are so upset right now - angry about what the NDP is doing, and the fact that so many of their decisions are based on an ideology that the majority do not share" ~~ Kerry-Lynne Findlay

Last night, in Kamloops, I and a dozen others had the opportunity to meet with Conservative Party of BC leadership Candidate Kerry-Lynne Findlay. Including a brief Q&A, she spoke for an hour and a quarter on a number of topics, although the majority of that time was spent talking about issues surrounding the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA). Like all other candidates, however, she has been clear in stating that under her leadership, and a BC Conservative government, it will be cancelled. She also spoke to the need for all conservatives to unite and come together as a single force against the NDP government of Premier David Eby. “ We need all the conservatives. We need conservatives to come together.  I'm talking to the independents ”, Findlay stated. She then went on to discuss what can’t be done right now, a direct reference to a deal the Fulmer campaign struck with OneBC leader Dallas Brodie just days ago. “ As a leadership contender, you...

Being the opposition party sucks. Peter's tired of talking about change, he wants to enact it.

IMAGE:  South Delta, March 24th I attended a Peter Milobar event today. The room was packed. People were standing. Wouldn't be surprised if he needs bigger venues soon. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Dude's a coach. If you went to a hockey rink or a baseball diamond and you saw him walking around, you'd just assume he was coaching a team. He even speaks like a coach, sports analogies and all. He's on the field to win, has a strategy and he's going to play fair. When he yells at the refs, they've probably screwed up. He doesn't care what colour jersey you supply him with because what colour jersey he wears won't change how he plays the game.  TAKEAWAYS: - He dislikes SOGI and will repeal it but solidly supports the Canadian Charter re: protecting students from bulling and discrimination. - He will repeal DRIPA and green-light government lawyers to argue in favor private property rights in court, which is something the NDP is currently preventing. He says this whil...

MILOBAR: This is what the members want us to campaign on, stand up for, fight for daily, and focus on

Last night (March 13th) 200 area residents, and members of the Conservative Party of BC, heard from Kamloops Centre MLA Peter Milobar. Milobar, who has been traveling the province for several weeks, is looking to become the next leader of the Conservative Party.   The following is a condensed version of what he had to say:  This election as the right-of-center party -- as BC conservatives -- we cannot afford to lose. We need a win. BC needs us to win. And we need experience to do that. Not just in the leadership race, but in the actual general election. And my experience as a city councillor, my experience as a mayor, my experience as an MLA, as a small businessperson; I’m actually the only one in the race that can talk about that experience. Because make no mistake about it, the NDP will be competitive in this coming election. They are going to get 37-38 percent of the vote no matter who their leader is. We need to be cohesive. We're supposed to be a party that believe...
