Kamloops woman’s cancer test cancelled due to Interior Health mandates for OB/GYNs (iNFO News)

A Kamloops woman’s cancer screening appointment was considered urgent by her doctors and scheduled within weeks, but it was postponed indefinitely when Interior Health ordered her gynecologist take that day’s on-call shift. Troylana Manson now waits with the mystery of whether she might have cancer amid a staffing crisis for women’s health care specialists in Kamloops. “I was happy to have that appointment in December so we could rule this out, but now it’s thrown in the air again. Flush Toilets vs. Critical Health Care ... an NDP priority

  Reprinted, with permission, from BC is Talk'N Premier David Eby recently announced a new legal requirement for construction sites, with 25 or more workers, to have flush toilets. While cleanliness on job sites is undoubtedly important, the decision to prioritize this over critical health care issues is concerning. At the BC Building Trades convention in Victoria, Eby emphasized the need for sanitary bathroom facilities, stating, " If we want people to work in the trades, the basic ability to go to a bathroom that doesn’t stink is a basic requirement for a job site .” The "Get Flushed" campaign, launched in response to COVID-19 concerns, focuses on upgrading toilet facilities. However, amid these efforts, B.C.'s cancer care system has witnessed a troubling decline.
