“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

JOHN RUSTAD – All animals are equal but some are more equal than others

George Orwell wrote that all animals are equal but some are more equal than others. This seems appropriate for people in BC under Horgan's NDP.

If you want to work on a government infrastructure project, you have to be a member of the 19 hand picked unions (which excludes 85% of the construction work force).

If you were a member of the union covering the social services sector, you got a wage increase by this government but if you weren't, no wage increase for you ... even though you were doing the same work.

If you were an elected chief on the Wet'suwet'en people, government ignored you but entered an agreement with a select group of hereditary chiefs.

If you owned a home and rented out a room, your renter can choose to not pay rent and there is nothing you can do about it. But you still have to pay your mortgage.

If you were on a work share program and were laid off, sorry, you don't qualify for BC's relief program.

If you are a farmer, the NDP have taken away your right to even apply for an exclusion. Not to mention preventing you from having a second home on your own private property.

If you were self employed or a small business owner, there has been no support for you other than deferral of some taxes.

If you live in rural or northern BC, you have to pay an ever-increasing carbon tax with NO recognition that you have no options to avoid it. Unlike urban areas where transit of other options may be available.

Horgan's NDP government are not treating people equally in this province.

$10 billion in new taxes ...

$13 billion in new spending and that was before CO

NDP government checklist of inequality,
red-tape, interference, increasing carbon
taxes, new taxes, and more

VID-19 ...

... and what has there been to show for it?

On top of this, BC desperately needs investment from the business sector to help us recover.

The NDP's policies have been very anti-business.

Some may celebrate this. But the reality is simple. BC needs businesses to employ people, to generate revenue, to support families and communities, and to support our quality of life.

Ask yourself this, if you were thinking about starting a new business, why would you choose BC with all of its anti-business policies?

It takes 168 days longer to get approval -- for something as simple as a warehouse -- compared to other countries. It takes more than 6 months just to get a notice of work permit in the resource sector and longer for many other permits.

The NDP have been pouring sand in the economic engine that is BC. And now, when a crisis has hit, and when we need businesses to invest more than ever, BC has a huge problem to overcome.

JOHN RUSTAD ... was first elected as the MLA for Nechako Lakes (2005); he previously served as the Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation -- Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations -- and as Parliamentary Secretary for Forestry.

He currently serves as the Official Opposition's critic on Forest, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations and was appointed to the Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders, and Private Bills.

A Kamloops woman’s cancer screening appointment was considered urgent by her doctors and scheduled within weeks, but it was postponed indefinitely when Interior Health ordered her gynecologist take that day’s on-call shift. Troylana Manson now waits with the mystery of whether she might have cancer amid a staffing crisis for women’s health care specialists in Kamloops. “I was happy to have that appointment in December so we could rule this out, but now it’s thrown in the air again. People in Kamloops, certainly people in positions of power, need to realize what Interior Health is doing”  ... CLICK HERE for the full story

One arrested at OneBC event at UVic that draws protesters (Times Colonist)

A would-be speaker was arrested under the Trespass Act after she arrived at the University of Victoria on Tuesday for an event intended to shed light on what the OneBC political party refers to as the “reconciliation industry.”  An officer at the scene initially said two people were arrested, after protesters scuffled with those trying to hold the unsanctioned event. Saanich police issued a statement later Tuesday saying only one person was arrested.  Police did not name the person who was arrested, but OneBC leader Dallas Brodie said it was Frances Widdowson, who was later released ... Eby misled British Columbians about Cowichan appeal; court records show no stay was ever filed; Conservative leader John Rustad

Conservative Opposition Leader John Rustad says Premier David Eby has been caught misleading the public after court records confirmed the government never filed the stay of the Cowichan ruling the NDP repeatedly promised. “For four months, the Premier said the stay was being sought, the Attorney General claimed the application was underway, and the government told British Columbians that action was coming. The court record shows they did nothing,” said Rustad. “Not one stay, not one application, not one motion. They made promises to homeowners while the registry sat empty.” Premier Eby first promised on August 11, 2025, that a stay would be filed, then again in October, and twice in Question Period when pressured by the opposition. A review of court documents on Friday revealed that no stay has been filed. Rustad said the stay was the single legal measure that could pause the ruling and protect homeowners in Richmond and across the province while appeals move forward. By...
