“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

Right now, British Columbia only has two choices; terrible, and worse than terrible …

A few weeks back I wrote a piece stating that we (small 'c' conservatives) really had no choice, if we didn't want an NDP win in the next election.  Outside of having a very strong Independent to vote for, or not voting at all, there was little choice given our option but to vote for the BC Liberal candidate in our riding.

Personally since then, I really haven't changed my mind, however a former political ally (John Crocock) from our BC Conservative days called to remind me that, "The BC Action Party was formed to give British Columbia a positive choice"

From that conversation I offered him the chance to make his pitch to you ... so in John's words, here is why he is asking for your support for candidates they'll be running in the May Provincial General Election.

Right now, British Columbia only has two choices, terrible, and, worse than terrible …

The BC Liberals can unbelievably fleece the British Columbian’s population and get away with it completely. All they have to say is, Well if you do not like what we do, you will have the scary NDP that would be even worse than us. The BC Action Party is planning to stop this unacceptable situation.

What the BC Action Party wants to stop …

1) British Columbia’s mega projects, costing many times more than comparable projects elsewhere.

2) Questionable sales of British Columbia assets, way below their market value.

3) Keeping volumes and volumes of information to themselves that British Columbian’s have a right to know.

4) Decisions upon decisions made for friends of the Government, not for the best interest of British Columbians.

We can mention just a few of these that are sadly in these categories:

BC Rail ; Trying to block the Burrard Street Bridge for Lulu Lemons ; The Port Mann Bridge Cost/Tolls etc. ; The Vancouver Convention Center ; The future George Massey replacement project ; Family Day scheduled a week before the rest of Canada ; Dubious charges in the (Carbon Tax/MSP/ICBC Rates/Encorp Computer Fees) ; Pressuring and rewarding corporations for party donations in many different ways.

The above are just a few of the unacceptable actions that the BC Liberals have and are doing to the public. The BC Action Party says enough is enough … British Columbians should not have to put up with all this. These actions are making British Columbia into a third world place where the friends of the Present Government are getting away with a multitude of atrocities at the expense of the pubic. The haves, are their friends, and have-nots are everybody else in the province.

What the BC Action Party Members believes …

The government of British Columbia must listen to all British Columbians and must be accountable for its actions. It must be a leader in pursuing innovation while maintaining the diversity of the people.

The goal of making government transparent is very important to us at The BC Action Party. This falls in direct contrast to every other major political party in British Columbia, since transparency could (and should) result in criticism, analysis and ultimately judgment in the public forum, However, The BC Action Party welcomes that, since all governing decisions should be made for the greater good of the province.

The BC Action Party is a grass roots party, and welcomes everybody, who are saying enough is enough, we have to have a government that represents all of the people in British Columbia not just a small circle of chosen people.

Please come and join us and check out some of the positive actions we want to introduce to help make our dream of having a responsible government to represent the people of British Columbia.

And there you have it.  If you'd like to find out more about the BC Action Party, you can stop by their website by clicking here.

Till next time, I'm Alan Forseth in Kamloops.

  1. Well it is about time that BC had a choice on the political spectrum. Now if they will just field 87 Candidates and become the alternative to the BC Liberals, they will most likely be the BEST choice for British Columbians!!!

  2. Unfortunately, the time is very short to be able to get the BC Action Party up to election speed. Can they vet enough competent candidates to fill all ridings? If the launch is not full on will it then just split the vote with Libs and give the NDP a walk-in?

Interfor Moves Headquarters Out of BC as Forestry Crisis Continues

NDP policies are driving businesses out of B.C., and the forestry industry just suffered yet another calamity. Interfor, a BC company founded more than 60 years ago and now one of the world's largest lumber producers, is moving its headquarters from Burnaby, BC to Atlanta, Georgia. As BC’s forestry sector faces mill closures and mounting uncertainty, this move is another warning sign that the crisis is deepening and conditions are fatal. “This is the NDP’s record: endless job losses with no hope in sight for the forestry sector,” said Ward Stamer, Shadow Minister for Forestry. “Interfor still has three mills in BC which are now in serious jeopardy, and it is likely we will see even more companies pull out of BC. The NDP government is suffocating the forestry industry with high taxes, excessive regulations, and permitting delays, while DRIPA has made it impossible to plan for the future.” “Decisions like this are sadly not surprising given the NDP’s indifference if not hostility tow...

Okanagan Farmers Face NDP-Created Water Crisis ~~ BC Conservatives

Okanagan farmers are facing a water crisis as government-imposed restrictions threaten to kill their crops and destroy one of B.C.’s most important agricultural industries. In perhaps the most water-rich province in the country, our farmers have been left high and dry by the NDP government. For nine weeks, Okanagan and Shuswap farmers have proposed solutions, only to be met with NDP foot-dragging. Now forest fires have come to these regions as they are simultaneously reckoning with a water crisis that has been made worse through years of government inaction. Vernon-area farms have lost 70 percent of their water, while Kelowna and Summerland growers face severe restrictions. This situation is unacceptable and cannot continue. Ian Paton, Shadow Minister for Agriculture, said the NDP is once again forcing farmers to pay for its own failure to plan. "Farmers and ranchers must be listened to when decisions affecting their livelihoods are made, and under the NDP, they aren’t," said...

NDP Hypocritically Admits Natural Gas Power Was Needed All Along ~~ BC Conservatives

The NDP just got caught buying back the exact kind of power plant it spent years telling British Columbians they didn't need. The NDP government announced today that BC Hydro is purchasing the Island Generation natural gas facility in Campbell River, an admission that its electrification-only energy policy was never realistic. The 275-megawatt plant was originally privately owned yet kept to a minimal backup role under the NDP, operating just 15 days a year on average. Now, with demand outpacing what the NDP's plan can support, the government is spending taxpayer funds on the very gas capacity it once treated as obsolete. "You cannot electrify everything and pretend natural gas doesn't matter," said Larry Neufeld, Shadow Minister for Energy.  "Buying back a gas plant they once wrote off is proof their own plan couldn't keep the lights on. It's a step towards more energy reality, but the government needs to go further and scrap the impending province-w...
