Ajax Mine has been a divisive topic in Kamloops.  I am proud to say however that BC Conservative Party has, and will continue to, stand up for responsible resource development in British Columbia.

Jobs in the mining industry pay over $100,000 per year.  In addition to that, these jobs create an additional 2+ spin-off jobs from every one of those mining jobs!

Thousand of young people have gone through Thompson Rivers University here in Kamloops, and other schools of training through-out the province, to learn jobs in the resource industry.  These individuals are our children ... our husbands and wives ... friends ... and other family members. 



They need jobs that will match the skills they have trained for!

We cannot expect to have the social services we desire ... nor health care services ... nor schools ... hospital buildings ... road construction and more ... without high paying jobs. 



 Fast food and coffee jockeys won't do it!

That is why I am proud that the BC Conservative Party took a stand on AJAX Mine ... and a stand on any and all future resource development that is able to pass stringent environmental standards.

Did the BC Liberals take this stand while in government?  NO THEY DID NOT!

If they had, then perhaps this development would now already be well underway, in building the facilities to process the copper and gold.

It is not John Horgan's BC NDP

And it certainly is NOT the Green Party of Andrew Weaver.



It's time to get on board --- let's build a team to excite the right!

    I concur with you that it is time to build a team to allow the voters to have a new option to vote for. You state a team should be built to excite the right. I say a team should be built to excite the voters! A new team will have new ideas to excite the voters. I saw that in Ontario when Mike Harris became premier. Unfortunately Alan you decided to join a party that has a history of being incompetent. And the so called interim leader is one of those individuals who has sat on the Executive and contributed to the incompetency. He could even get it right when he announced his appointment as interim leader and claimed the Executive would allow him to run for the permanent leader position if he chose to. The events that have occurred in that party will certainly become a topic of discussion in the next provincial election and the voters will once again over whelmingly reject the party as a credible option to the present old line parties. We presently have two individuals with a conservative viewpoint running for leadership of the BC Liberals. I am not so sure either one of them will be successful. I am hopeful therefore that if either one of them is not successful, a new party will be created. On Saturday night I attended a function where the vast majority of individuals were provincial Liberals. When I mentioned the BC Conservatives as an option some of them just out right laughed. NOT one person I spoke to was interested in the BC Conservatives. And unfortunately I did not get any excitement regarding the creation of a new party. Anyways I guess time will tell how things shake out in BC politics.

      Sorry however I disagree strongly with your comments about Scott.

      As to bringing up the topic of the BC Conservatives at a Liberal event, well of course they are not going to say anything positive within earshot of others. Remarkably, that is simply another sign of the negative poison within thier party. Liberals are Liberals ... Conservatives are Conservative. Let the Liberals be the spendthrifts they are, unencumbered by the few conservatives in their ranks, Meantime, small 'c' conservatives should come home where they are needed -- the BC Conservative Party.

      Rest assured, after the BC Liberals elect their new party leader -- an individual who WILL BE of the spending ways of their federal counter parts -- TRUE conservatives will abandon them in droves -- joining those who are already now coming on board.

How do we decide who’s blue enough to be a Conservative? AS OF TODAY (Friday January 30 th ), there are now eight individuals who have put their names forward to lead the Conservative Party of British Columbia. Having been involved with BC’s Conservatives since 2010, and having seen MANY ups and downs, having 8 people say “I want to lead the party” is to me, an incredible turn-around from the past. Sadly, however, it seems that our party cannot seem to shake what I, and others, call a purity test of ‘what is a Conservative’. And that seems to have already come to the forefront of the campaign by a couple of candidates.
