BC Green Party wants weather shelters to stay open all year to support the homeless

As cold, wet weather hits most parts of British Columbia, some elected officials are calling for the provincial government to keep extreme weather shelters open year-round. 

B.C. Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau told CBC News that not keeping those shelters open means municipalities have to scramble to find locations, staff and resources when temperatures hit a certain temperature. 

"It is a really inefficient way of making sure that people are literally not freezing to death," she told On the Coast host Gloria Macarenko last week. "We have to do so much better than that" ...

Okanagan farmers are facing a water crisis as government-imposed restrictions threaten to kill their crops and destroy one of B.C.’s most important agricultural industries. NDP Hypocritically Admits Natural Gas Power Was Needed All Along ~~ BC Conservatives

The NDP just got caught buying back the exact kind of power plant it spent years telling British Columbians they didn't need. The NDP government announced today that BC Hydro is purchasing the Island Generation natural gas facility in Campbell River, an admission that its electrification-only energy policy was never realistic.
