A provincial court judge has decided a man who seriously injured a North Cowichan-Duncan Mountie when he rammed a police vehicle should serve his sentence in the community, saying incarceration would not be in the interest of his continued rehabilitation.
Lunden Taylor Howard, 30, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle in a dangerous manner, causing bodily harm and assault by choking his then-partner in connection with the May 2023 incidents.
He was sentenced Monday to 23 months to be served in the community under a conditional sentence order, as well as 18 months of probation on the driving charge, with four months to be served in the community concurrently on the assault charge ...
