It’s baffling that governments seem to think giving police more money will somehow magically solve problems.
The latest example is the BC government’s funding for a 12-officer RCMP unit to combat human trafficking — an announcement that came in the same week The Tyee reported on the closure of PACE Society, which has provided services to sex workers in Vancouver for 31 years.
