The only “every child” he speaks of will be from those families using government sponsored child care facilities, under a program that will inevitably need to be approved, including content, by government


Since writing todays blog post a short-time ago, it has now been announced that the BC government is spending (some would say) or investing (others would say) more than $1 billion in child care over the next three years, to lay the foundation for a universal child care system, Under ChildCare BC.

The media release titled, “New benefit helps 60,000 more families with child care expenses”, states that the NDP will announce the child care facilities that have been selected as prototype sites to offer child care at $10 a day or less. (please read my earlier post from today regarding how the government is slowly but surely taking over all child care options, and why this may not be a good idea).

IF, as the government states, the Affordable Child Care Benefit works in tandem with the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative, this will mean it will ONLY available to authorized government child care facilities – excluding once again affordable quality home-care providers.

Katrina Chen, Minister of State of Child Care shared today that, “We’ve made a lot of changes since announcing our $1-billion ChildCare BC plan in February, and there’s more to come.”


Premier John Horgan, in a letter on July 18th of last year, to Minister Katrina Chen, told her, “British Columbians expect our government to work together to advance the public good. That means seeking out, fostering, and advancing good ideas regardless of which side of the house they come from.”

His letter to her goes on to state she is to:
“Work … to implement a universal child-care plan that provides affordable, accessible and high-quality care and early learning to every child whose family wants or needs it, starting with infant/toddler programs before gradually expanding.”

That is NOT TRUE however, as.

That should also include the public – the people of BC.  All I can say is I am concerned when big government, and the Nanny State, tells us they’ll have more for us shortly on the first steps of what goes in to child-rearing, and where and how it takes place. 

Heaven help us, and future generations, that will be spoon fed from cradle to grave, if we allow what’s happening to continue.

    Licensed family child care providers are eligible for the fee reduction initiative and in fact most have already opted-in.

Okanagan Farmers Face NDP-Created Water Crisis ~~ BC Conservatives

Okanagan farmers are facing a water crisis as government-imposed restrictions threaten to kill their crops and destroy one of B.C.’s most important agricultural industries. NDP Hypocritically Admits Natural Gas Power Was Needed All Along ~~ BC Conservatives

The NDP just got caught buying back the exact kind of power plant it spent years telling British Columbians they didn't need. The NDP government announced today that BC Hydro is purchasing the Island Generation natural gas facility in Campbell River, an admission that its electrification-only energy policy was never realistic.
