Despite several unions and advocacy groups repeatedly raising the issue of violence in health-care settings, CTV News has learned that no policing or government agencies keep track of assaults or criminal charges.
In trying to get statistics about the conviction rate for the rare charges laid against suspects who stand accused of assaulting health-care workers on the job, the Attorney General’s office said a freedom of information request was required.
