New data shows most Albertans still reject independence, despite sharp discontent with Ottawa.


Alberta alienation is unquestionably one of the main takeaways from the federal Liberals’ fourth consecutive win last month. As we discussed last week, polling continues to show a noticeable uptick in support for Alberta independence. The idea of an Alberta separation referendum, while still the purview of a minority, is a topic that deserves to be taken attention—especially given its near-exclusive support on one side of the political spectrum.
