I’ve got whiplash from the speed of this government’s shifting allegiances.

Canada’s 45th Parliament opened May 26, 2025. The next day, King Charles III delivered the Speech from the Throne. Prime Minister Mark Carney had invited him, hoping the symbolism would rekindle a sense of unity. A patriotic gesture, Carney hoped it might blunt the growing separatist sentiment in Western Canada.

It didn’t work. But it made for a good photo op.

Then within days, Carney undercut the whole thing. Speaking in Europe, he called Canada “the most European of non-European countries" ....

NDP Government Blames Everyone but Themselves

The federal government has announced new measures to support British Columbia's forestry sector, including $65 million in funding for projects across the province. While any support is welcome, it falls far short of the level of assistance other provinces have secured for key industries. Conservative Forests Critic Ward Stamer says the NDP government needs to take responsibility for its mismanagement of B.C.’s forest industry instead of trying to pass on the blame.
