Economy, Housing Top Concerns — and Carney Has the Edge for Now (338 Canada)


New polling from Research Co. suggests Mark Carney’s popularity among Canadians remains high heading into the fall sitting. Among issues that are top of mind to Canadian voters, Carney still holds the edge over his Conservative rival.

The latest numbers put Carney’s approval rating at 56%, while his disapproval sits 18 points lower at 38%. Meanwhile, Pierre Poilievre remains narrowly above water, with 47% approval and 45% disapproval — a position the Conservative leader has frequently occupied since the election.

In Quebec, Yves-François Blanchet is just slightly underwater, with 44% approval and 45% disapproval — a somewhat weaker showing than in previous polls ...
