“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

FORSETH -- Nothing has changed, as Premier David Eby's government is still clueless about financial stewardship

Once again, the BC NDP, and Finance Minister Brenda Bailey, have shown their ineptness in being able to care for the finances of our province.

Just a mere six months ago Bailey told BC residents the provincial debt for this year would be an astounding $10.912 billion dollars.

Today's news shows she was off by nearly a billion dollars as the true state of BC’s finances show a deficit of 11.6 billion.

But it gets worse ...

Last Spring Bailey indicated the upcoming budget deficit for 2026/2027 would be 9.9 billion, she is now telling us to expect even more red ink.  The newly revised figure has ballooned to $12.6 billion.

Decades ago, the late Social Credit Premier W.A.C. Bennett said the NDP couldn’t run a peanut stand.  Sadly, nothing has changed, as Premier David Eby's government is still clueless about financial stewardship.

Oh, and I’m still waiting for that household relief cheque you promised in last years election!
