With few exceptions, there are likely very few people who won't believe Finance Minister Brenda Bailey is still being overly optimistic on her expectations for future revenues, and predicted budget deficits, in the years ahead.
Our provincial Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is shrinking -- unemployment numbers are rising -- and there is no clear plan how to get out of the mess that David Eby's NDP government created, through on-going deficit spending.
But it’s not just fiscal challenges we face; it’s everything.
The strain we are experiencing around trade with the Americans, coupled with crippling taxes, declining affordability, crime, and health care challenges are all making it even more difficult to turn this province around.
And that is especially true with declining resource industry revenues.
Until this current government realizes changes are necessary, to address the critical challenges are province faces, this financial nightmare will continue.
We need definitive action NOW, not just words and broken promises.
