“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

Pipeline protestors are myopic, narrow-minded shills who have one single objective that is contrary to the interests of Canada and her people

Vivian Krause leads fight against Americans who have landlocked the oil sands
David Staples  ~~  Edmonton Journal  ~~  November 14, 2018

It’s not often that powerful American interests are completely open about their success at thwarting a foreign economy, but that’s what happened a year ago when Michael Marx talked up his achievements.

Protesters and activists have two goals -- keep Canadian
oil in the ground, and if not, then keep our oil landlocked
“From the very beginning, the campaign strategy was to land-lock the tar sands so their crude could not reach the international market where it could fetch a high price per barrel. This meant national and grassroots organizing to block all proposed pipelines.”

co-ordinated two major American charitable foundations, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and The Tides Foundation, in their anti-oilsands fight … campaign has supplied tens of millions in U.S. dollars to groups such as Greenpeace Canada, Idle No More, Leadnow, Living Oceans Society, the Pembina Institute, the Sierra Club, the World Wildlife Fund Canada and various First Nations to battle against the oil sands

I wonder how many pipeline protestors will admit they are indoctrinated shills of American corporate billionaires. They are not protecting anything other than the foreign bank accounts of the people who pay for organizing them. All that holier than thou, protect our environment posturing is a scam.

Our governments are failing us, by allowing a few hundred foreign organized shills to dictate public policy that affects every one of 36.7 million other Canadians.

We must strike back and refuse to support any politicians or political party that will not actively promote and support resource development in Canada.

We can make it an election issue.

We can appear wherever politicians’ campaign and demand they listen to us and stop throttling our economic lifeblood.

$100 billion per year is significant lost income that would eliminate our federal budget deficits and allow us to reduce our federal debt, currently standing at over $1.2 trillion. Interest on that debt is just under $29.4 billion or $800 per person per year. Those lost tax dollars do not provide any services or programs -- they go to foreign lenders.

Pipeline protestors are myopic, narrow-minded shills who have one single objective that is contrary to the interests of Canada and her people. They don’t care if our economy tanks and unemployment is rampant if their desires are met.

They can voice their opinions on their own dime, petition parliament, speak to MPs and otherwise act within our lawful framework, but the thuggery they regularly turn to must not be tolerated. Protesters have no more rights than any other resident, and that must be made clear.

Protestors who block projects or march without permits or block roads must be arrested, charged and given the choice of community service or jail time ... no fines.

They might find that doing something useful for their community gives them a new perspective.

The NDP is destroying BC's softwood industry as 100 Mile House mill shuts down and jobs vanish

No more than a few days after the province hosted its much-touted summit to discuss the continuing impact of U.S. softwood tariffs, and with Statistics Canada reporting another decline in BC’s softwood production, the axe has fallen on West Fraser Timber’s 100 Mile House mill. Lorne Doerkson, MLA for Cariboo–Chilcotin , says the devastation now hitting the South Cariboo is what happens when government ignores every warning sign coming from the forest sector. “One hundred and sixty-five people in 100 Mile House just lost their jobs,” said Doerkson. “That’s 165 families wondering how they’ll pay their bills and whether they can stay in their own community. The ripple effect will hit every business on main street, from the gas stations and restaurants to the grocery stores.” “The Minister’s thoughts and prayers aren’t enough for those families facing unimaginable hardship. It’s time this minister did his job and not another photo op,” said Doerkson. “The Minister thinks the ...

Premier’s Office Acknowledges Richmond Residents Affected by Cowichan Land Claim Face Issues on “Mortgages, Property Sales”

“The Premier’s Office is secretly sending letters to my constituents behind my back. If the NDP were truly committed to transparency and supporting residents, they would have proactively engaged with owners years ago, not rushed out last-minute letters to cover their tracks.” ~~ Steve Kooner, Conservative MLA for Richmond-Queensborough and Opposition Critic for Attorney General Steve Kooner, Conservative MLA for Richmond-Queensborough and Opposition Critic for Attorney General, is criticising Premier David Eby and the NDP provincial government for secretly delivering non-committal, last-minute letters to Richmond residents affected by the Cowichan Tribes land claim. For over six years the NDP misled British Columbians on the implications of indigenous land claims. Premier Eby is now quietly sending staff to conduct damage control following public fallout from his 2019 strategic directive for government lawyers not to argue extinguishment of aboriginal title, even over p...

Kamloops woman’s cancer test cancelled due to Interior Health mandates for OB/GYNs (iNFO News)

A Kamloops woman’s cancer screening appointment was considered urgent by her doctors and scheduled within weeks, but it was postponed indefinitely when Interior Health ordered her gynecologist take that day’s on-call shift. Troylana Manson now waits with the mystery of whether she might have cancer amid a staffing crisis for women’s health care specialists in Kamloops. “I was happy to have that appointment in December so we could rule this out, but now it’s thrown in the air again. People in Kamloops, certainly people in positions of power, need to realize what Interior Health is doing”  ... CLICK HERE for the full story
