A follow-up to the May 16th blog-post:

“I have watched my nephew go down to the gutter over the last 8 years, due to not being able to survive at his job, and live, so he became homeless and addicted, only to become an empty shell”.

“Over time he crawled out of the gutter and worked under the table to try and get ahead to prepare to start a good job. He did this because he knew family maintenance would be there for garnishee, but he also knew that he would barely be able to feed himself”.

“What I am saying is this system is failed, and seriously needs to be looked at”.


The above is a quote, from Mary Brown (not her real name), that was in the commentary.  Once the post, she had inspired, was written, I let her know it was online.  Today, sadly, came this information in an email to me.


Thank you for getting back to me I really do appreciate your interest in this matter,

My Nephew passed away from heart failure. We do know he had taken the day off, to try and reason with family maintenance, over phone calls he could not place at work. He was found deceased the next morning.  Overall a very sad situation -- left four kids behind with no maintenance.

So, thank you again for looking into this system

FORSETH -- Before anyone gets excited about one poll showing a candidate with a 25 percent lead, and 44 percent support overall, let’s give it a few more weeks

Is this based in reality -- how accurate are the numbers? In the past couple of weeks a couple of candidates, for the leadership of the BC Conservative Party, have been presenting polling results that they lead the pack – one even going so far as to say they have a lock on 44% of those who will be voting, and a twenty-five percent lead over the individual ranked second. I am going to say that this one, from Kerry-Lynne Findlay, is highly suspect. First of all the company conducting the poll, ERG National Research, is not a Member of Industry Bodies (the Canadian Research Insights Council), meaning they do not adhere to established industry standards for research, such as transparency, privacy, and methodological rigor.
