“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wants Canada to be thought of as the peacemakers of the world --- instead, we are the doormats of the world

Alan Forseth ~~ Kamloops, BC ~~ May 3rd, 2019

WHAT IS PRIME MINISTER JUSTIN TRUDEAU ... and Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland doing to protect Canadian products from blockades to China and the US?

Not much it seems.

While China has imposed a ban on Canadian pork, canola, peas and soy beans, all we hear from Canadian officials are that ‘talks continue’ or that ‘there is hope the issue will be resolved soon’.

Meantime the People (communist) Republic of China, continues to hold and detain Canadian citizens on trumped up charges – basically as we all know in retaliation for the arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou – this due to an extradition request from the United States.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, to see this communist regime basically kicking our a$$, for far too many years they have been flooding our economy with products produced by cheap labour – all the while Canadian factories continue to close.

In looking at various publications, statistics seem to vary; the following however sourced from
Trade Data Online / Industry Canada (March 9, 2019) gives a good idea of how we as a country get screwed on our exports vs. their imports

In total Canadian dollars -- between the years 2015 and 2018 -- exports shipped by China to Canada totaled approximately $276.5 BILLION dollars .... meantime our exports to China came to just $88.4 billion.

They ship over three times the dollar value of what we send to them ... and Team Canada Captain Prime Minister Justin Trudeau just throws up his hands when they start slapping trade tariffs on what little we do send to them.

Meantime across the border, its is reboot of 1989’s Trump the Game from Milton Bradley.  The Donald seems to have taken to heart the games slogan of, "It's not whether you win or lose, it's whether you win!"

In the past several years the US government, AKA Donald Trump, has unfairly imposed tariffs on Canadian steel, aluminum, and softwood lumber – costing the Canadian economy billions of dollars.

How did we handle things?

We imposed tariffs on U.S. exports of orange juice, maple syrup, whiskey, toilet paper and a wide variety of other products.

They bar Canadian steel -- we ban their orange juice and maple syrup ...

They bar our aluminum -- we ban their whiskey ...

And finally, they ban our softwood lumber -- we ban their toilet paper.

BUT ... the end is not yet in site when it comes to retaliatory tactics by Canada.

We are certainly constantly looking at ways to refresh the retaliation list … to have an even greater impact,” Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland told reporters early in April.

And what could that list include?  Apples, pork, ethanol and wine.

About a year ago an article in the National Post included these comments:

“(Trudeau) had too many gimmicks. They’re very rich, why not just bring (the garbage) back?”, Filipino Senator Cynthia Villar said in an interview with an English language news outlet in her country.

Perhaps most disconcerting to Trudeau, though, will be that, compared to 2015, his charisma is no longer having the effect it once had. After weighing in on the Filipino garbage situation, Villar also gave a withering assessment of the prime minister.

You all find him cute, some were even squealing. I don’t find him cute. I’m already old, I don’t go crazy anymore,” Villar said.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wants Canada to be thought of as the peacemakers of the world -- instead, we are the doormats of the world -- and far too many countries that will continue to push us as far as they can.

Up to now sadly, that’s been a long way, and it appears there’s no end in sight

Delays to the replacement of the Red Bridge? Kamloops North Thompson MLA Ward Stamer says they are, “Totally Unacceptable.”

I think it’s totally unacceptable that on one hand the Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) is saying they’re going to be responsible for putting together multiple replacement options with public engagement, and then in the same breath they're saying, ‘Oh, and by the way, we're going to start our geotechnical environmental and archaeological site assessments on both sides of the river, possibly beginning this summer.’ According to Stamer, that should already have been done. “Obviously, we're pretty sure it will be in the same location because there's really no other place to put it. So, if you're going to put in a bridge, you think that at least you'd be doing the archaeological assessments first off”, stated Stamer.   “If it's determined it has to be a free-span bridge, and it can't have anything or very minimal impact in the riverbed, they should already be determining that. It would help in the design, wouldn't it?” Stamer indicated...

Your government has a gambling problem (Troy Media)

Provinces call it “revenue,” but it looks a lot like exploitation of the marginalized The odds of winning Lotto Max are about 1 in 33 million. You’re statistically more likely to be struck by lightning than to win it. But your government is betting that statistics won’t hold you back; they’re counting on it. Across Canada, provincial governments not only regulate gambling, they also maintain a monopoly on lottery and gaming by owning and operating the entire legal market. That means every scratch card is government-issued, gambling odds are government-set, casino ads are government-funded and lottery billboards are government-paid. And these are not incidental government activities. They generate significant revenues that governments have powerful incentives to expand, not constrain. It would be one thing for our governments to encourage us to engage in healthy activities. We can quibble about whether the government should be trying to convince us to be more active or eat more vegetabl...
