“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

We gave $10 million to a tried, convicted, and imprisoned terrorist. After being destroyed by his own government, how much are we going to give to Mark Norman, who spent decades serving his country?

Alan Forseth ~~ Kamloops, BC ~~ May 8th, 2019

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

On April 9th the House voted on our Conservative motion to support Vice-Admiral Mark Norman”, commented Conservative MP Dan Albas.  The NDP joined with us in voting yes”.

Meantime, while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau whipped his Liberal caucus to vote no on the conservative motion ... “Some Liberal MPs were conspicuously absent for this vote, despite having just been in their seats for the vote prior”.

Watching the actions of Justin Trudeau’s government ... the actions of the PMO’s Office ... and those of the Privy Council, in recent months, including the smearing of Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, I want to say, “We can't get rid of Trudeau The Hypocrite soon enough”.

Given the way he treats people, I have to believe he has no conscience, no scruples, and no understanding of the chaos he creates all around him.

Two and a half years ago Norman was given the role of Vice Chief of Canada’s Defense staff ... then on January of 2017 he was temporarily removed form that post ... and six months later permanently removed.

As many will recall, that removal was based on allegations that he had released government information that might affect the procurement of naval supply ships, which potentially constituted a breach of trust.

Today, a story in the National Post this morning indicated that ... the newly exonerated Vice-Admiral Mark Norman says he was alarmed by the persistent belief among senior government officials that he was guilty, and that their false assumptions took a significant financial and emotional toll on him and on his family.

Meantime the Globe and Mail stated that if the trial had gone ahead, it would have ... likely featured potentially damaging evidence and testimony for the Liberal government. After coming to power in October, 2015, the Liberal cabinet temporarily put the contract with the Davie shipyard in Quebec on hold ... Norman’s defence team has struggled through a series of pretrial motions to obtain access to classified documents from the government, sparking accusations in the House of Commons that the Liberals were hiding key information related to the case ...

Hide, deflect, smear, intimidation, insert innuendo and doubt into the minds of Canadians.  That seems to be the Trudeau way given what has happened not just in former Vice-Admiral Mark Norman’s case ... but also in the case of Jody Wilson-Raybould, and others.

Foresight perhaps that a reporter noted that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s 2017 Canada Day comment that ... “We are strong not in spite of our differences, but because of them ... should have instead been ... “We are stronger not because of our differences, but because we extinguish them”.

On Facebook today (May 8th), Sean Smith commented that Admiral Norman ... was basically wrongfully accused, his reputation dragged through the mud, his career in ruins, his personal finances depleted in his defence......all because of a political party was looking for a way to deflect attention away from some of their questionable procurement processes.

Smith continued, “If we are giving $10 Million to a convicted terrorist who was tried and imprisoned by another country, how much are we going to give to a Canadian Citizen (who spent decades serving his country in the Canadian Forces) for being destroyed by his own government?

Today as well, Central Okanagan - Similkameen – Nicola MP Dan Albas asked two questions:

1) Was there political pressure from PMO to drop this case?
2) What tipped the scale? Was it pure political optics, or did the government learn something that blew up their case?

Either way, Vice Admiral Mark Norman’s legal fees should be covered by the
government”, Albas stated.

From the sponsorship / Shawinigate / ad-scam scandal of the Jean Chretien government ... to Justin’s own father, Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau who in the opinion of many was extremely arrogant, who caused the frustration of Western Canada due to his centralization of power in Ottawa, along with his much-hated National Energy program ... the Liberal Party of Canada seems to abound with self-righteousness and under-handedness.

That self-righteousness has led consecutive Liberal governments to force MPS to simply act as seals in Parliament, and saying “YES” (at least until recently), to every motion brought forward by government.

It has caused them to hide and deflect issues that Canadians would be dismayed to know ... and which have once uncovered -- it’s allowed them to run up debt to levels that no one could ever imagine. -- and it will bring the government of Justin Trudeau to its knees when it is kicked out of power following the up-coming general election in October.

A New York Times Editorial in 2005 remarked that, “When power and leadership come to politician’s incapable of handling either, the results can be disastrous”.

History will show that the second go-round of Trudeaumania, through Justin, will indeed be disastrous.  Let history not also show that we as Canadians, gave him a second term in office.

WARD STAMER: “Hopefully he’s actually listening to what people have to say, and not just showing up for a photo op”

In his latest travels across the province, BC Forest Minister Ravi Parmar touched down in the Okanagan. A trip essentially, he said, to be on the ground meeting industry people. I read what he had to say, and about how he has been tasked with getting more timber to market. Let me start by saying, “ He hasn’t been tasked. He and Premier Eby guaranteed 45 million cubic metres of available wood fibre – they guaranteed that .” BC Timber Sales is a government agency within the provincial forest’s ministry, which is responsible for managing a portion of the province's Crown timber; specifically, 20 percent of the province's annual allowable cut. Unfortunately, BC Timber Sales did not provide anywhere near that amount last year, it was just 12.2 percent. Three years ago, BC mills cut 52 million metres of wood, bringing in nearly $2 billion dollars to the provincial treasury. That figure doesn’t include the taxes from 55,700 people directly employed in the industry, nor from the tens o...

Conservative Opposition demonstrates focused and policy-oriented approach in first four weeks of the legislative session

In the first four weeks of the legislative session, the Conservative Official Opposition has scored significant policy wins as it proves every day that the Conservative team has fresh ideas and real-world experience to bring to the table. At the same time, the NDP government has been listless, struggling to find a policy agenda that addresses the problems that British Columbians are facing. “This NDP government led by David Eby has tried to do everything under the sun to distract from their disastrous fiscal record and the fact that they are utterly out of ideas,” said Conservative Opposition Leader John Rustad. “They’ve tried to use the U.S. President to deflect from their eye-popping $11 billion deficit, the worst business confidence in the country, and the fact that they’ve created almost zero private sector jobs. This is no way to run a province or an economy.” Since the legislative session started on February 18th with the Throne Speech, the opposition...

Conservative Party of BC Calls for Coroner’s Inquest in the Death of Chantelle Williams

Chantelle Williams/Facebook “Somebody has to come out and tell the truth on what happened and who’s at fault” ~~ Martin Watts, Uncle of Chantelle Williams The Conservative Party of BC is urgently calling for a coroner’s inquest into the death of 18-year-old Indigenous youth Chantelle Williams, who tragically died under the care of Usma Nuu-chah-nulth Family and Child Services, an agency of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Her family is disturbed by the lack of transparency and unanswered questions surrounding her final moments, and are seeking answers on who was responsible for her care and supervision and why no one noticed she was missing until it was too late. Chantelle was found unresponsive in Port Alberni in the early morning of January 28, 2025. She was later pronounced dead in the hospital. Temperatures had dropped below –7°C the night of her death. Her family is demanding clarity on the circumstances that led to her untimely passing, and they demand answ...
