“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

Justin Trudeau has never drawn one single line in the sand that he wouldn’t see crossed; if he had he would have just kept backing up to draw another line further back

Things just keep going from bad to worse .... and all our Canadian Prime Minister can do is wring his hands and ask the United Stated to have a school yard fight with the Chinese and take a round out of them for us.

In an earlier post today, with regards to China a being a reception sponsor at the Union of BC Municipalities, I noted the comments of Port Coquitlam Mayor Brad West who commented:

To state it plainly: The Government of China is engaged in a number of actions that are hostile to our country's interests and the interests of every Canadian, and are completely at odds with our values, the rule of law and the very principles that we were all elected to uphold ...

West then went on to list a number of well-know issues Canada is having with China, and which have been labelled as phony and manufactured. This includes the arrest of two Canadians being held in detention with little to no access to lawyers ... Pork-gate ... Canola-gate ...

His letter to the Executive of the UBCM also reminded them of ... a brutal crackdown on peaceful, legitimate protests in Hong Kong ... the internment of in excess of one million ethnic Uyghurs and other Muslims in China in camps who are subject to gross human rights violations, physical and psychological abuse and death ... all of which have been confirmed and condemned by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, respected scholars, writers and governments from all over the world...

Well now as I mentioned, things have gone from bad to worse! According to a story in CTV News, just after 3pm this afternoon:

The Chinese Embassy says it has suspended all Canadian meat exports in a dramatic escalation of its diplomatic dispute with Canada over the December arrest of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou in Vancouver.

The latest Chinese move comes as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to depart Wednesday for the G20 leaders' summit, where he is expected to rely on U.S. President Donald Trump to raise the plight of two detained Canadians during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
I know I will hear all kinds of reasons why we would be crazy to do this; however, it IS time we stood up for ourselves.  Countries like COMMUNIST China have under-priced our own manufacturing seeing factory after factory shut down --- and thousands of Canadian jobs have been lost.

On top of that ... much of what they send us has toxic poisons in it unsafe for humans ... they've shipped children's toys with toxic lead paint ... sent us food for the pets we love with all kinds of crap that is unsafe ... the list goes on and one ... never mind the human rights offenses that happen to their own citizens day after day.

Justin Trudeau has never drawn a single line in the sand that he won’t see crossed -- that’s probably a good thing as all he would have done is keep backing up to draw another line further back in the sand.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Trudeau should get on the phone right now, and I don’t care if it is only 7am in Beijing, and tell Xi Jinping that he can get on the phone and tell the captain of every freighter headed out way, to turn around and head back to their home ports.

It won’t happen overnight, but it’s time to really on Canadians to manufacture and produce what we need here, not exclusively, but the countries we import from had better be ready to play be and decide the playing field is going to be even, or we don’t want what thy plan to send us.

MAKE SURE JUSTIN GETS THE MESSAGE!

Call his Parliamentary Office at ... (613) 992-4211

Call his Constituency Office at ... (514) 277-6020
Flood him with emails at ...

Brad West was right when he said, “What line does the Chinese Government have to cross before the UBCM says no more? Is there a line?”

It certainly appears there is not one – at least as far as our Federal Liberal government, led by Justin Trudeau is concerned.

THAT HAS TO END ... and if nothing else we as Canadians should check to see that we are not purchasing Chinese products when we are shopping.  Leaving Chinese manufactured products on the shelves will send a message to businesses that we don’t want their crap!!

FORSETH -- Given the noted infractions of this agreement with OneBC leader Dallas Brodie, I request the Party immediate suspend the leadership campaign of Yuri Fulmer

I have personally emailed the following to the Board and Administration of the Conservative Party of BC:   TODAY (03/30) Yuri Fulmer, a candidate for the leadership of the Conservative Party of BC, made a pact with ONEBC leader Dallas Broldie, that if he is elected will commit the Conservative Party to the following. Specifically, the pact states : This Memorandum of Understanding outlines the definitive electoral and governing alliance that will be executed upon Yuri Fulmer’s election as Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia OneBC Party commits to not nominating or authorizing candidates in 88 of British Columbia’s 93 electoral districts. In exchange, the Conservative Party of BC, under the leadership of Yuri Fulmer, commits to not nominating or authorizing candidates in five (5) specific electoral districts . OneBC will be the sole standard-bearer for the right in those five districts. The specific ridings will be determined through mutual negotiation and fin...

Delays to the replacement of the Red Bridge? Kamloops North Thompson MLA Ward Stamer says they are, “Totally Unacceptable.”

I think it’s totally unacceptable that on one hand the Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) is saying they’re going to be responsible for putting together multiple replacement options with public engagement, and then in the same breath they're saying, ‘Oh, and by the way, we're going to start our geotechnical environmental and archaeological site assessments on both sides of the river, possibly beginning this summer.’ According to Stamer, that should already have been done. “Obviously, we're pretty sure it will be in the same location because there's really no other place to put it. So, if you're going to put in a bridge, you think that at least you'd be doing the archaeological assessments first off”, stated Stamer.   “If it's determined it has to be a free-span bridge, and it can't have anything or very minimal impact in the riverbed, they should already be determining that. It would help in the design, wouldn't it?” Stamer indicated...

MIKE RIGGS -- The candidates who win are the ones who can hold both sides without losing control of the message

If you step back and look at the BC Conservative leadership race, which begin 81 days ago on January 16th, the real difference is not experience, it is approach. Caroline Elliott understands where voters are right now. People are tired of being managed, talked down to, and boxed into rigid policy frameworks. They want someone who reflects their concerns but can still operate in the real world. That is where she separates from someone like Kerry-Lynne Findlay. Findlay represents a more traditional style of politics. She brings experience, but also a more controlled and cautious approach that can feel rigid at a time when voters want responsiveness and adaptability. Elliott is positioning herself differently. She leans more socially conservative in tone, which connects with a base that feels ignored, but she is also showing a willingness to be pragmatic. That balance is what actually wins elections. If you are too rigid, you stall out. If you are too soft, you lose your base. The candida...
